Everyone knows what a pain renting can be and more of us are doing it for longer - from 11% of Londoners in 1990 to 1 in 4 of us today. Young professionals account for 47% of those renters.
This is how we live now. Being a homeowner is something your mum and dad expected, now it’s a dream to strive for. Being a renter is often the only option. So, we should be making the most of it, not just the best of it.
Regulations are getting better, but the cheekier landlords will always find ways to cut corners. If we set our own standards, we can make sure we keep to them.
