Lyvly's new chief experience officer: Seb

November 6, 2019 - Read time 3 mins

Who are you and where are you from?

I’m Seb, just joined Lyvly as Chief Experience Officer, having previously worked at Dyson and Waitrose in Operational, Retail and Customer Experience leadership roles. I spent many years a Londoner (Paddington, Ealing and Finsbury Park) before heading out to West Berkshire.

What’s your role at Lyvly?

As Chief Experience Officer, my job is to create a fantastic experience for members from the moment they join the community to the moment they leave.

What's your vision for member experience at Lyvly?

A wonderful member experience should be authentic, meaningful and reliable; effortless for members to receive and simple for Lyvly to provide. Easy to say, much harder to deliver! Lyvly will be investing in its processes and systems to support this vision but above all its people that will make sure it happens: true experience-led organisations always lead with - and through - their people.

As is customary for every new colleague that's involved with member experience, it only seems fair to put them through the same questionnaire that we give to every new addition to the community.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Dedicated, passionate, leader.

What do your friends come to you for?

First and foremost genuine friendship. A very close second is good, strong Dutch coffee. I am also a fairly big provider of rugby chat and gardening advice. I've gradually been getting greener fingers for the last 7 years rebuilding the garden at our place and  grown most of the plants from seed. I also have very strong indie music knowledge, there's nothing I don't know about the scene from 1989 to 1997. Very useful for pub quizzes.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

A poorly stacked dishwasher - a true crime against humanity. My wife and I figure that if we argue about the dishwasher, we won’t get around to arguing about the important stuff! So middle aged….!

If you could take one thing (and one thing only) to a desert island, what would it be?

Is a family one thing? If so I’d take them! They’re hilarious.

Tell us your favourite fact(s) about yourself?

My second cousin was married to Drew Barrymore for two months.

What else would like to tell us about yourself?

I’m married to Katie who works as a GP and we keep ourselves busy with our four children….we both go to work for a rest!
