Have a look around
Elephant & Castle
E&C has had a pretty big facelift in the last few years. There are so many amazing places to eat and drink locally and Ministry of Sound is virtually on your doorstep. You can pop down the road and be surrounded by London’s world class attractions.
For food and drink, there’s Borough Market, culture is covered with The Old Vic or Shakespeare’s Globe theatres or, if you like your entertainment a bit less subtle, Britain’s biggest IMAX screen is at the BFI on the South Bank.
If you’re after a bit of greenery, Burgess Park is just down the road. It’s one of the largest parks in South London - there’s tennis courts and even a fishing lake(!) to explore.
This is Zone 1 living. You can get to most places in London pretty quickly from here. Elephant and Castle station, 10 mins' walk away, will get you to central London or The City before the triple shot cappuccino you bought at the station is cool enough to drink.
The best of everything
You're only a short walk from Mercato Metropolitano, a place where you can legitimately have a basket full of beautiful, artisan Italian ingredients in one hand and high-end street food in the other.
A walk along the Low Line takes you through Old Union Yard Arches, where there’s independent theatres, aerial fitness classes (think upside down yoga in the air) and a beautiful celebration of African culture. A bit further on is Flat Iron Square - it’s difficult not to be blown away by the tasty treats on offer here from some of London’s most innovative new restaurants.
(everything from dishwasher tablets to toilet paper)
