The area was once a dock for Canadian ships, hence the name, so used to be a one stop shop for maple syrup, bears and hockey players. Now just brilliant place to live in London - right by the river, with its own lake, amazing views of Canary Wharf and the city's beautiful skyline and great places to eat. drink and party.
There's barely time to get Spotify going, let alone a podcast, on a commute from Porter's Edge. One stop from Canary Wharf, two from London Bridge and a few more minutes to Central London. Canada Water's overground station can take you to hipster heaven north and southbound, with Shoreditch or Peckham a short journey away.
Your night can start with some of London's best street food and bars at Hawker House, pretty much on your doorstep, then carry on until the morning at PrintWorks. If you're after something a little more wholesome, there's beautiful walks and cycling routes along the Thames. Make sure you stop in at The Mayflower in Rotherhithe, London's oldest Thameside pub. You can even get out on the water, with some sail or paddle-powered boat action at The Surrey Docks Fitness & Watersports centre.
